I Have Published a Book!

I’m excited and nervous all at the same time!

I have been writing a book on teaching school for a few years now, and I finally finished it and got it published! As you may know, teaching and school are two of my favorite topics.

It covers all the aspects of teaching school – class management, what is important in the classroom, expecting and getting good work, admin work and when and how to get it done, and more.

Each chapter is followed with a challenge that focuses on the main point of the chapter, a couple questions to help you criticize your own style of teaching and a Write it Out option. The Write it Out is a chance for you to write how you feel about the information in the chapter as it pertains to you and your teaching style.

My hope for this book is that it will push you as the the teacher into being a better more focused teacher.

Here’s some comments from a group of teachers that I had read it and give me feedback: (These teachers read the book, answered the questions, did the Write it Out, then gave me feedback on the book. It was set up in a chat, so we could all see everyone’s thoughts and answers – sort of like an online class.)

“This class gave me so much inspiration. I hope this year I’m going to be more of an old fashioned teacher.”

“I want to remember that teaching school isn’t about making bad good, but good better and being my personal best.”

“Teaching is quite the job, in that you have to cover SO MUCH! This book covered the topics nicely.”

“This book is not overhwelming with telling you all the things you need to change, but rather it is very encouraging. It helps point out the fact that you are doing some thing right, those things can be improved as your strong points and all of the rest of your teaching will be better, too.”

This book is in ebook form as of right now. Purchase it (or gift to your own special teacher) on amazon. Please be aware that you can not purchase ebooks on the Amazon app (no, I don’t know why, it’s just one of their many rules that we little authors have to follow). You need to go to amazon.com/ebook to purchase ebooks. You may need the Kindle app, also. Here are the options for navigating Amazon.

This book gently pushes you into identifying your strenghts and helps you focus on those. It also points out and helps you identify weaknesses and helps you figure out ways to help you strengthen those. It is a quick read (may take you 30 minutes from start to finish), but with the built-in workbook it will take time to focus, think and write. A good way to use it as a study guide, would be to set aside time each week for one chapter study. Focus on that one chapter, do the work and watch yourself as the teacher, looking for ways to apply what you learned.

If you would like to purchase the book, follow this link!

I’m planning to tell more about the process and my reasons for writng the book in the group Handmade Market on telegram tomorrow morning.

    • Hi, Cindy! That was my sister that wrote a book but thanks for the applause! I hope summer is treating you well. I am taking a break from writing in August. No great progress for me on any sort of writing.
