Mouth to Mouth

Antoine Wilson, 2022

Psychological Thriller

Rating: 4 out of 6.

This entire story is told in the first class lounge of an airport. Jeff Cook meets up with an old school acquaitance. Jeff feels compelled to tell the story of his life starting with how he rescued a drowning man years earlier. Jeff becomes obsessed with who that man was. He surreptitiously follows the man. Jeff learns the man is an art dealer. Through a series of coincidences, Jeff applies for a postition at the gallary. Jeff keeps the secret to the end of the book, all the time wondering if the man knew who Jeff was. I was certain by the last chapter that I knew what was going to happen, but the twist at the end took me completely by surprise. Jeff wasn’t the only one keeping secrets.

I really enjoyed this book. I kept thinking the hammer was going to fall and things just kept moving along in the right direction. I knew there was something I wasn’t seeing because I could feel it in the story line. The ending left me reeling!

Have you ever been taken totally by surprise by something, real life or stories? Let us know how it went in the comments.
