Favorite Ways To Move

Oxycise by Jill R. Johnson. This book was published in 1997; an oldie but goodie. I have long since decluttered the book, unless i borrowed it from someone. but i copied the quick reference pages and still love the exercises. They make you feel really good; because freshly oxygenated blood is delivered to every cell of your body.

Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes by Teresa Tapp. Once I learned the basic 15 minute routine, I decluttered this book too. But the exercises are so good.

Walking. No special skills or gear required.

Motion is lotion (to your joints). A lot of our time is spent in our minds in this day and age. Getting into your body has so many benefits for both the mind and the body. When we think too much, we need to let the mind rest while the body does the work. Slowing our mind to keep up with mindful movements and breathing makes us calmer. This makes us more likely to open our minds to new realizations and truths.

That’s what I love about exercise. How do you like to move?

  1. A good motivator is a dog 🙂 I walk my dog usually twice a day. Not always far or uphill but we’re out there faithfully. Good exercise for both of us, good bonding, and then she’s tired when we get home and I can clean house or write or something undisturbed 😉
