Many of us feel like winter is a difficult season. It can be. To prove that point, I compiled a list of actions you can take daily for the next few months.
Don’t take any action that might make you feel better. Nothing helps anyway.
Focus on the worst parts of the weather.
Refuse to believe Vitamin D3 might help.
Stay indoors all day. It’s such a drag to put on all the boots and coats anyway.
Keep a list of what goes wrong. Rehearse it often.
If anybody suggests you change your perspective, don’t even try. They don’t have a clue what you are going through.
Reprimand yourself for feeling so bad. It’s just winter. This is what you have to endure.
Do not escape into a book. Just endure the dreary hours.
Avoid any projects or hobbies that might take your mind off of winter.
Don’t meet friends at the coffee shop.
Whatever you do, don’t smile. If you follow these instructions, you will be guaranteed the worst winter of your life. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Give it a try for one week and see the difference! Let me know in the comments the good choices you plan to make to cope with winter. And if you smiled even a little, I call it mission accomplished.

If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life but still the same amount of snow.

The weather has cooperated this year in SD. Almost no snow, and the lake froze over smooth as glass. And the days are already getting longer in our part of the world!. (and I did smile at the article)

Hi, lynn. I think this article made the ones who like winter speak up. I’m glad for that. Happy winter to you!
We have actually had some snow in Kansas! I’m finding out (again) that one of the best things is to get outside for a while every day. I’m a wimp in the cold, but once I’m out there and the blood is pumping, it’s awesome!
One thing you missed in having the worst winter ever 😉 Please don’t even think about getting out a puzzle…
Julie, thanks for that! And for another idea to get through the winter. One of my friends suggested a house cat, too.
I love winter too! But I’m too old to be out in the snow much. But I love wintertime activities. Sewing reading puzzles quilting on and on. Watching a snowstorm from the windows is so cozy.
Hello, Ruth. We might as well enjoy the good things each season brings. Thanks for adding your comments!
