It is the middle of summer. Life is busy with many good things to do. You can give your mind a break by setting a timer. Timers let us do one task with concentration, keep us from getting sucked down black holes of distraction, and set limits on disliked or loved tasks. So use your timer

- for housecleaning, which will take any time allotted to it.
- when baking.
- for chilling in freezer, when you don’t want to actually freeze it.
- when writing. Writing is like housecleaning.
- to keep children working outside or to get them out of the pool on time.
- for reading on a busy day. Ten minutes is ten minutes!
- when you hear the words, Remind me to __________.
- anytime you turn on the garden hose.
- if you use any social media.
